ACT Victims' Register
A victim of an offence, where the offender is sentenced to imprisonment with a possible parole period, may be eligible to register with the ACT Victims' Register.
The Sentence Administration Board of the ACT maintains the ACT Victims' Register and has the duty of considering the possible release of an offender(s) on parole.
Registration
Registration with the ACT Victims' Register is confidential. It entitles victims to be kept informed of certain matters about an offender, as well as providing registered victims with the opportunity to provide a submission to the Sentence Administration Board in relation to the release of an offender on parole.
A victim of an offence may also choose to make a submission requesting certain conditions be placed against an offender's parole order if the offender(s) is released.
