Media Release: Former Customs official arrested for drug importation offences

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has arrested and charged a former Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) official for offences relating to the importation of illicit substances into Australia.
A 27-year-old Kensington woman was arrested today in Sydney (Monday 2 September) following the execution of a search warrant at a Sydney premises on 3 July 2013.
The woman was charged with:
- Two counts of import marketable quantity of border controlled drug contrary to section 307.2(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth).
- One count of trafficking marketable quantity of controlled drug contrary to section 302.3 of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth).
The woman is scheduled to appear in Sydney Central Local Court tomorrow.
Operation Heritage/Marca is a joint taskforce between the AFP, the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) and the ACBPS. The operation focuses on drug importation involving an organised crime syndicate and corrupt Commonwealth officials who worked at Sydney International Airport.
This is the 22nd arrest (and the fifth ACBPS officer arrested) in the Operation Heritage/Marca investigation.
