Keys to the City presented to the AFP

19 October 2004

AFP Commissioner Mick Keelty APM was given the keys to the city by ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope after a police march through the city on 19 October 2004.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the AFP's history as the organisation celebrated 25 years since its inception on October 19, 1979.

An estimated 250 sworn and unsworn members joined in the march through the city of Canberra.
