Witnesses sought after Calwell armed robbery

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an armed robbery at the Calwell Club in Were St, Calwell, earlier today (Sunday, February 18).

 

Territory Investigation Group detectives were called to the club after an armed offender had forced his way in through a rear door of the premises around 6.40am.

 

The male offender threatened two female staff with a weapon and stole a sum of cash.

 

The offender is described as around 175 to180cm in height, between 35 to 40 years old, and of medium to solid build. He was disguised by a balaclava.

 

Police would urge witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the club around the time of the offence to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
