Elderly missing man sought

Friday, 03 October 2008

ACT Policing is seeking community assistance in locating an 80-year-old Banks man who has gone missing after being dropped off by car in Civic early this afternoon to attend an appointment in the city.

The missing man, Matteo Bortoluss, suffers from dementia and may have become disorientated.

Mr Bortoluss is described as 165cm (5’5”) tall, of stocky build, and balding, with some grey hair at sides of his head.

He was wearing a blue shirt, black trousers, brown shoes and a navy blue jacket. He had been dropped off at the corner of Northbourne Avenue and London Circuit in Civic around 12.35pm today (Friday, October 3) and failed to turn up for a scheduled appointment a few blocks away.

Bus and taxi operators have been advised to keep a lookout.

Police would urge anyone who may have seen the missing man, or may have information which could assist police in locating him to contact Police Operations on 131-444.
