Letterbox destroyed; Farrer

ACT Policing is seeking information from the public after a residential letterbox in Farrer was destroyed by fireworks around 11pm last night (June 21).

Police were called to the Custance Street address on reports a letterbox had been completely destroyed, with metal debris strew in an eight to ten metre radius. The debris caused damage to a nearby vehicle and a garage door. Police seized three damaged aerosol cans which are believed to have been used in conjunction with retail fireworks to cause the explosion.

Just after the incident a white Commodore sedan with a number of young persons was observed driving past the scene.

Police are seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in Custance Street, Farrer, last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the web site www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
