Man charged after bottle shop burglary

ACT Policing has charged a 19-year-old Lyneham man with burglary and theft after a break in at a bottle shop in Braddon yesterday morning (Wednesday, October 8).
About 3.50am yesterday police attended Olims Hotel Canberra on Limestone Avenue after reports of a burglary at the hotel’s bottle shop.
Police observed evidence of forced entry and an empty box of premixed alcohol cans on the floor of the store. There was also blood on the glass door and inside the store.
Police then obtained a search warrant to a residence in Ainslie. The alleged male offender was discovered and found to have a cut on his foot. During the search of the premises police also seized an assortment of alcohol.
The alleged male offender received treatment at Canberra Hospital and was later conveyed to the Regional Watch House where he was charged with burglary and theft.
He will appear before the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Thursday, October 9).
