P-plate driver to face charges

Monday, 06 October 2008

A 23-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on drink driving charges following a collision early this morning (Monday, October 6).

About 2am, police attended a motor-vehicle collision on Lowanna Street, Braddon. A Holden station wagon travelling northbound allegedly collided with two parked vehicles causing significant damage.

The alleged driver, a 23-year-old man and holder of a provisional license, returned a positive screening test. A subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.162 which is eight times the legal limit for a provisional driver.

The 23-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a date to be fixed on drink driving and traffic charges.
