ACT Policing media release
Police seek to identify indecent offender
Thursday, 26 June 2008
ACT Policing is seeking public assistance to identify a male who has exposed himself on at least two occasions to children in a Gungahlin shopping centre.
Police believed the male is targeting children’s clothing sections of department stores, where he exposes himself to young children who are not in the company of their parents at the time.
Police have currently received two reports of incidents at Big W in Gungahlin where a male has indecently exposed himself to children. Police believe there may be a number of other unreported incidents of a similar nature and potentially at other locations.
The male is described as Caucasian in appearance, 60 years of age, approximately 183cm tall (6’), large build, thinning grey hair, light blue-coloured eyes with a pointy nose, bowed legs and a pronounced stomach. He is described as generally wearing boots with socks and baggy shorts.
Police would urge anyone who may know the identity of the male or have children that have been approached by the male to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
