Two arrested after attempted armed robbery

ACT Policing has arrested a 27-year-old male from Isabella Plains and an 18-year-old female from Griffith over an attempted armed robbery today (August 17).
The alleged incident took place at a bakery at Charnwood shops just before 8am. Police will allege the male entered the premises and threatened staff with a syringe while the female waited in a vehicle. The alleged offenders then fled in the vehicle in the direction of Belconnen.
With the assistance of the public, police arrived on scene where the vehicle the alleged offenders were driving had hit a tree and made the apprehensions.
The alleged offenders will face the ACT Magistrates court tomorrow morning (August 18) charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery.
