Witnesses sought to theft of BMW

Wednesday, 23 July 2008

ACT Policing are calling for witnesses to a burglary that occurred between 10pm Monday (July 21) and 5:30am Tuesday (July 22) in Fadden.

The offender entered at the rear of the Larcombe Crescent residence and obtained a laptop, a mobile telephone and a small amount of cash. The offender then took a set of car keys, opened the garage door and stole a silver 3-Series BMW. The victims were at home asleep at the time of the burglary.

The approximate value of the property taken is $30,000.

Superintendent Frank Jamieson has reminded the community to make sure their property is secure at all times.

“This crime was committed while the victims were at home asleep and is a reminder that people should ensure their property is protected both when out and at home.

“Local communities should also remain alert to suspicious activity occurring in and around their neighbourhood and report this to police,” Superintendent Jamieson said.

Police would urge anyone who may know the identity of the offender or who witnessed suspicious persons around Larcombe Crescent in Fadden on Monday night / Tuesday morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online to www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
