Youth to face charges after alleged 'glassing'

ACT Policing are investigating an alleged ‘glassing’ incident in Kingston on Wednesday, June 11 which has left a 30-year-old man with lacerations to his arms.
Shortly before 10.30pm on Wednesday (June 11), police attended a disturbance at Eastlakes Football Club, Oxley Street, Kingston. Police believe as many as four males became involved in a verbal altercation before one of the males – a 16-year-old – allegedly used a broken bottle to inflict serious wounds to a 30-year-old’s elbow and upper arm.
The alleged offender then fled along Oxley Street, Kingston.
Based on information received, police attended The Canberra Hospital (TCH) shortly after 11.30pm and spoke to a 16-year-old who had presented himself to hospital staff for treatment to a cut hand.
It has taken a number of days for police to complete enquiries as the alleged offender required medical treatment. He will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Children’s Court at a date yet to be set to face charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
