Alleged burglar caught in the act

ACT Policing has arrested a 32-year-old man after a report was received by police of a burglary at a Red Hill residential address around 9.09am today (June 17).
The victim returned home around 9am to find an unknown male in his house. The surprised home owner chased the alleged offender from the premises and over a fence. The male is alleged to have then threatened the victim with a knife in order to get away. The victim immediately contacted police.
From the detailed description provided by the victim, police were able to locate the male in a nearby street.
The alleged offender from Red Hill will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (June 18), charged with possession of a weapon with intent, burglary and theft.
