Saturday, 13 June 2009

ACT Policing is investigating an incident which occurred yesterday (June 12) at the intersection of Lawrence Wackett Circuit and Tharwa Drive, Theodore.

A white Holden Commodore sedan collided with the rear of a white utility about 5.50pm. Two males exited the rear passenger seats of the sedan, one with a stick or bat and the other with a knife. The driver and front passenger remained in the vehicle.

The 34-year-old male victim was assaulted by the male with the stick or bat and threatened by the male with the knife; he received minor injuries before fleeing from the two men.

Whilst away from his vehicle, several personal items including his house and car keys were stolen. The victim took a shovel from the tray of his utility and approached the offenders in an attempt to retrieve his property.

One of the offenders then asked the front seat passenger to "give me the gun", the front seat passenger was seen to reach under his seat before the victim again fled the scene. No firearm was sighted by the victim.
