NSW man charged with child exploitation offences

A 43-year old Penshurst man has been charged with child exploitation offences as part of an ongoing Australian Federal Police (AFP) investigation.
The AFP Child Protection Operations Team executed a search warrant on the man’s residential address on 19 August this year.
Computer equipment containing images and videos of child exploitation and other hardcopy material of child exploitation was seized at the man’s residence.
The alleged offender is a senior constable in the NSW Police Force and was seconded to the AFP’s Airport Uniform Policing.
AFP agents arrested the man on 19 August 2008 and charged him with Using a carriage service to access child pornography contrary to section 474.19 of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth), Possession of child pornography contrary to section 91H of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) and Sexual intercourse with a child between 14 and 16 contrary to section 66C of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW).
The man will appear at Downing Centre Local Court today.
The maximum penalty for these offences is ten years imprisonment.
