International liaison profile - Ken
Name: Ken
Age: 57
Previous work experience: From 1968-1972 I was in the Royal Australian Navy. 1972-1981 I was self-employed. I then joined the AFP in 1981.
What attracted you to the AFP?
The challenge, job security and the opportunity to travel and to work in different and interesting areas. I worked in Kuala Lumpur for four years. In 2002, I was appointed as a Senior Liaison Officer to Cambodia. In 2005, I was appointed as a Senior Liaison Officer in Jakarta. I have now been appointed as a Senior Liaison Officer in New Delhi India, which will commence in 2008. In January this year I was made an APM for services to International Law Enforcement.
What are your impressions so far?
I’ve enjoyed every minute of my career. The opportunities I looked for when I joined the Organisation have been realised. No two days are the same.
