Service charters
The AFP Service Charter for the Australian community sets out the services provided by the AFP and the standard to which we will perform these services. It provides details about how we will report on these services. The charter also tells you how to give us feedback about how we are meeting our obligations.
ACT Policing operates under a Policing Arrangement with the ACT government, supported by a Purchase Agreement. Under this agreement, the AFP provides a community policing service, a central property office and a firearms registry. The Purchase Agreement requires that "ACT Policing works in partnership with the community to create a safer and more secure Australian Capital Territory through the provision of quality police services".
The Criminal History Service Charter provides details on the services and standards of the AFP Criminal Records branch. The AFP Criminal Records branch provides assistance to members of the public and organisations to obtain information including employment and security checks.
The Business Satisfaction Survey is designed to improve the AFP's focus on core values. It is one of the key performance indicators which the AFP regularly reports to Government.
