The Australia Day Achievement Medallion provides Commonwealth government departments and agencies with the opportunity to acknowledge individuals for their contribution to the nation and their outstanding performance.

The Australia Day Achievement Medallions is a particularly special way of recognising employee contributions to Australia. Many projects, large and small, impact our nation every day. Some of these projects and the people who undertake them are prominent and receive public recognition. Yet there are many others who make a national contribution at a less visible level.

The Australia Day Achievement Medallions are presented around Australia Day. The selection of the award recipient is at the discretion of the CEO of the department or agency.
