The Australian Police Medal is awarded for distinguished service by members of Australian police forces.
Established in 1986, the Australian Police Medal is the highest police honour in the Australian Honours System. It is awarded for distinguished service by members of Australian police forces shown through significant career achievements, upholding the values of policing and displaying continued dedication to their role.
Recipients of the Australian Police Medal are entitled to use the post-nominal ‘APM’.
Nominations are sought twice a year to coincide with the Queen’s Birthday honours and Australia Day honours. All nomination forms are to be forwarded to nominations@afp.gov.au.
