The Commissioner’s Medallion for Tenacity and Dedication is awarded to those individuals who have provided a sustained, dedicated and outstanding contributions to the AFP.

The Commissioner’s Medallion for Tenacity and Dedication is the highest award in the AFP Internal Awards Framework. Individuals can only receive this honour once.

To complement the Commissioners Medallion, a miniature lapel pin is provided for wear in civilian clothes and a citation for wear in uniform.

Design

The Commissioner’s Medallion for Tenacity and Dedication features the AFP platypus symbol, on a blue background, in the centre of the medallion. Around the rim is a band of Sillitoe tartan with the text ‘TENACITY’ and ‘DEDICATION’ on a black background at top and bottom respectively. The reverse features an AFP badge in the centre of the medallion. The rim contains the text ‘AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE’ and ‘NULLI SECUNDUS’ at the top and bottom respectively.

The citation features a navy blue ribbon with the AFP platypus symbol in the centre surrounded by a silver coloured frame bearing the text ‘AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE’ and ‘TENACITY AND DEDICATION’ at the top and bottom respectively.

The lapel pin features the AFP platypus symbol, on a blue background, in the centre of the pin. Around the rim is the text ‘COMMISSIONER’S MEDALLION FOR TENACITY AND DEDICATION’.

Regulations

Multiple medallions can be awarded in a calendar year.

The Commissioner’s Medallion for Tenacity and Dedication is awarded at the discretion of the AFP Commissioner. Nominations are not sought.
