Order of Wear for AFP Internal Awards

The following Order of Wear has been established for the wearing of awards on the right-side of uniform or civilian attire, and includes correct positioning of bars and clasps

  • All awards are worn on the right side from the centre of the chest outwards.
  • Medal ribbons are worn below the name plate in rows of three or four across depending on the width of the chest area.
  • Citations are worn above the name plate in rows up to three across.

  3. Commissioner’s Medal for Excellence
  4. Commissioner’s Medal for Innovation
  5. AFP Welfare Services Medal

  7. Commissioner’s Commendation for Conspicuous Conduct (discontinued)
  8. Commissioner’s Commendation for Excellence in Overseas Service (discontinued)
  9. Commissioner’s Commendation for Hazardous Overseas Service (discontinued)

  1. Operational Service Medal (clasps are worn from the bottom of the ribbon upwards, in chronological order)
  2. ACT Emergency Medal (clasps are worn from the bottom of the ribbon upwards, in chronological order)
  3. AFP Service Medal (only the latest clasp is worn)
  4. AFP Protection Medal (only the latest clasp is worn)
  5. ACT Community Policing Medal (only the latest clasp is worn)
  6. Other jurisdictional awards
