Supervised testing and awareness session gateway

Subject to numbers and operational considerations, this session is likely to be held in selected AFP premises; the specific details will be provided to you, should you be invited.

The aim of this session is to raise awareness of the role of police officers, both community police officers and national investigators, and the role of protective service officers. You will get exposure to operational members to ask questions and gain a firm understanding of the roles you are applying for.

This session will also involve supervised psychometric testing including the intelligence test (RCAT), literacy test (ACER) and an emotional intelligence test (MSCEIT).

This session may also include the AFP Fitness Testing (Entry Physical Competency Assessment). This is where you will demonstrate your physical fitness and strength, by completing the beep test (6.05) push-ups (on your toes) and phased sits ups.

It is important to note that these sessions could be held as early as two weeks after applicants close, and therefore it is essential that you are confident that you will be able to complete these components to the highest standards, at the time of submitting your application.

The results of this testing centre will be used to shortlist the candidates to be invited to the next gateway.
