Rebecca

Rebecca moved to Canberra from Sydney to join AFP’s Graduate Program after finishing her Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing). While undertaking the program she completed her Bachelor of Laws and has enjoyed the diversity of work in the AFP.

What areas of the AFP did you work in during your graduate year?

I was engaged as a Media and Communications graduate and my rotations have included Strategic Communications, Legislation, Industrial Relations and Organised Crime.

During my rotation within the Industrial Relations team I worked on the Enterprise Agreement bargaining which was something I never thought I would end up working on. It has been a great project to work on and has given me the opportunity to use my skills to assist in meeting organisational priorities.

What is a highlight of working at AFP?

The highlight for me has been the opportunity to complete my law studies while working fulltime in the Graduate Program. This has given me exposure to a wide range of areas that contribute towards policing for a safer Australia. The grad cohort has been extremely helpful in making the move to Canberra so much easier and it’s great to be able to work with others who you can call friends.
