Pakistan-born man charged with alleged visa breach in NSW

A Pakistan-born man is set to appear before Burwood Local Court today (5 March, 2026) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.

The AFP charged the man, 36, yesterday (4 March, 2026), after he was located and arrested by the NSW Police Force in Sydney.

It will be alleged the man breached a condition of his Commonwealth visa by failing to maintain his electronic monitoring device.

The man has been charged with one count of failing to comply with electronic monitoring conditions, contrary to section 76D(3) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
