Sudan-born man charged with alleged visa breach condition in NSW

A Sudan-born man faced Liverpool Local Court yesterday (5 February, 2026) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his mandated curfew conditions.  

The AFP arrested the man, 31, on 5 February, 2026, in Sydney, NSW.  

It was alleged the man breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations.  

The man has been charged with one count of failing to comply with visa curfew conditions, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).  

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.  

The man was denied bail and is scheduled to next appear in Campbelltown Local Court on 18 February, 2026.
