35-year-old Barossa region man charged with accessing child exploitation material

Members of the South Australian Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team executed three search warrants earlier today (Tuesday, 25 July 2017) and arrested a 35-year-old man from the Barossa region.

The man was charged with:

  • one count of using a carriage service to access child pornography material and one count of using a carriage service to transmit child pornography,  contrary to section 474.19 of the Criminal Code (Cth).
  • two counts of breaching Australian National Child Offenders Register conditions under the Child Sex Offenders Registration Act 2006.
  • two counts of  possess child exploitation material contrary to the  Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935 .

Two mobile phones and one laptop computer were seized during the course of the searches.

The man is expected to appear before the Adelaide Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Note- there are strict non-publication rules regarding the name of a registerable person under the Child Sex Offenders Registration Act 2006.
