Three arrested over child sex abuse and exploitation material

Detectives from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (a partnership between SAPOL's Special Crimes Investigation Branch and the Australian Federal Police), ANCOR section of Special Crimes Investigation Branch and New South Wales Police Force have arrested a South Australian man and two women, in South Australia and New South Wales, following investigations into the production and dissemination of child exploitation material and the aggravated sexual assault of a child aged under 10.

At about 2.30 pm on 23 August 2017, Detectives from the JACET arrested a 34-year-old man from the northern suburbs of Adelaide for possession and dissemination of child exploitation material (basic and aggravated) plus two counts of fail to comply with obligations. The man has been refused bail and is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, 24 August 2017.

On the same day, a 32-year-old woman from regional NSW was arrested by Detectives from the NSW Police Force’s Child Abuse Squad for aggravated sexual assault of a child and disseminates child abuse material. The arrested woman has been refused bail and will appear in the Taree Local Court today, 24 August 2017.

Then just after 6pm on 23 August 2017, Detectives from the Special Crime Investigation Branch ANCOR Section, arrested a 45-year-old woman from Adelaide's northern suburbs for the aggravated offences of production, possession and dissemination of child exploitation material, indecent assault and incite or procure a gross indecent act.

The arrested woman has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, 24 August 2017.

Police wish to remind the public that any app, online game, or social media platform that allows the user to be in contact with people they do not know can put them at risk.
