WA Man charged with child exploitaiton offences

A 38 year-old man from Dalyellup, is due to appear before the Bunbury Magistrates Court today (5 September 2016) charged with child exploitation offences.

On Friday, 5 August 2016 the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) commenced an investigation in response to child exploitation images being posted on the internet.

As part of the JACET investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on Monday, 8 August 2016 at a residence in Dalyellup where they seized a computer, electronic storage devices and an amount of Cannabis.

It will be alleged the electronic devices belonged to the man and analysis of the devices identified images of child exploitation material. 

The man has been charged with:

  • Possession of Child Exploitation Material; and
  • Possess Prohibited Drug. 

This court appearance falls within National Child Protection Week (4-10 September 2016) and is a timely reminder that protecting children is everyone’s business. We all have a role to play in protecting our children both on, and off line.
