A North Sydney man has sentenced to a two-year good behaviour bond by the Downing Centre District Court today (15 December, 2022) following an extensive investigation into an online network of alleged child sex offenders.

VISION + IMAGES AVAILABLE: Organised criminal syndicates continue to be foiled in their attempts to import illicit drugs into Australia using sophisticated concealment methods, with more than 700 imports disrupted this year.

Three alleged members of a transnational crime syndicate linked to the importation of almost two tonnes of illicit drugs into Australia have been arrested in the Philippines, after an international investigation.

A New South Wales man, 34, was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment by the Downing District Court yesterday (9 December 2022) for producing child abuse material and sharing it online.  

They have a nose for sniffing out crime and this year the AFP’s detection dogs have detected cash hidden under stairs, sim cards concealed in shoes and USBs buried in eskies full of food. The AFP detection dog program added four fully trained dogs this year, making the capability more than 100 canines deployed or in training around the country.
