Conducting research with the AFP

AFP Research Innovation Challenge 2023

The AFP is pleased to launch the AFP Research Innovation Challenge which provides topics for unclassified academic research designed to achieve AFP objectives for research and innovation against a specific policing challenge.

The AFP is committed to engaging in research partnerships with external organisations, industry and academics, and supporting quality research where the findings will contribute to the AFP priorities, vision and mission and the AFP Corporate Plan.

Before you enquire

Your research will be evaluated on the extent to which it will:

  • Align to our priorities, vision and mission and Corporate Plan
  • Enhance law enforcement practices and/or policies
  • Support improvements in the way we do business
  • Represent a good use of AFP time and resources
  • Be methodologically sound
  • Be supported by the area(s) of the AFP impacted by the research

All researchers involved with the research project must comply with the following national standards:
