Intelligence

The purpose of the Intelligence function is to support the AFP Executive and operational functions by providing timely, relevant and high quality actionable intelligence for use in all levels of decision making in the AFP.

The Intelligence function is responsible for the production of both criminal intelligence and national security intelligence relating to:

  • people smuggling
  • illicit drugs
  • human trafficking and sexual servitude
  • economical and/or financial
  • counter-terrorism
  • high-tech crime
  • child sex tourism.

The AFP intelligence process is project driven and directed towards delivering intelligence that addresses identified gaps in corporate knowledge about the criminal environment and identifies targets from this understanding.

If it doesn't add up, speak up. Call the National Security Hotline - 1800 123 400.
