Rupen’s advice – All you need is a willingness to learn
If you assumed the AFP employs ready-made investigators, seasoned intelligence analysts and experienced protective service officers, you would be wrong!
Rupen has been with the AFP for nearly 20 years, and he recalls joining after being told ‘if you can use a computer, we want you’. A few things have changed in the world and in policing since that day, however, that sentiment is still largely true.
Rupen’s advice is simple: in order to be successful in the AFP, you simply need a willingness to learn, a desire to serve the community, and the ability to work in a team.
