We are coordinating contact between Australian survivors and the bereaved next of kin (Nok) of victims, and US authorities involved in the United States Military Tribunal proceedings to prosecute Riduan Isomudin HAMBALI and his 2 co-accused for their involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings and 2003 Jakarta Marriott bombing.
Some survivors and NoK of victims may want ongoing contact from us and other agencies. We also recognise that families may have changed and children of victims are now adults and may want to register their interest in receiving information.

HAMBALI also known as Encep NURJAMAN, is alleged by US authorities to be the organiser of both the 2002 Bali bombings and the 2003 Marriott bombing. He'll be tried by a US Military Tribunal with Mohammed Nazir Bin Lep and Mohammed Farik Bin Amin, for multiple offences.
All 3 accused were arraigned in Guantanamo Bay on 31 August 2021 and have deferred entering pleas. Given the complexity of the case, the trial date is difficult to predict, and proceedings are expected to continue into 2024.
US authorities also wish to identify potential Australian witnesses (survivors and NoK of victim/s) to give evidence before the Tribunal. The form below provides an opportunity to register your interest in being a witness in the proceedings.
