Nauru
The AFP and Nauru Police Force (NPF) work closely together across a range of areas through the Nauru-Australia Policing Partnership (NAPP) program, including:
- law enforcement cooperation
- transnational crime and border security
- operations capability, training, and corporate reform.
The goal of NAPP is to ensure the NPF is a professional, effective and trusted community-based police service. NAPP provides NPF support in the following areas:
- executive development
- the police training centre
- frontline, intelligence and investigations capability
- infrastructure and asset maintenance.
We provide AFP members as part of the NAPP. We mentor and assist to develop reporting systems, key documents and focused activities. We also work with a range of stakeholders including the Department of Justice, advising on police practice to inform legislative amendments.
